An accurate leak detection service is the first step in locating and repairing your water leak. If a leak is concealed within the walls of your home or below your concrete floor you can count on our extensive building and plumbing experience to quickly locate the problem. As qualified leak detectors we utilize the latest technology in acoustic and line tracing equipment to quickly and accurately meet your leak detection needs.

Our residential leak detection can be defined in a series of steps, each step brings us closer to understanding what we need to know in order to offer you the best and most cost effective solution to your problem. Here are the phases in our leak detection process:

Visual inspection. We can tell a lot just by looking…(and by what our customers tell us). We will examine your water meter for movement and conduct a pressure test on your water system. If the meter is moving or the pressure test fails we may check the perimeter of your home for wet planters and inspect the interior of your home for evidence of water at the base boards and below cabinets.

Acoustic survey.  Using electronic equipment specifically designed and calibrated to hear leak sounds we listen to each water outlet and supply in your home. The outlet with the loudest leak sound is most likely closest to the problem. We may also use a special microphone to listen to the floor to further zoom in on the water leak.

Line tracing.  To understand how the piping is run below the concrete floor we can utilize a signal generator and receiver to trace copper pipelines. After tracing we will have our best guess of where the leaking line runs to and from and are ready to isolate the problem line.

Isolation. This is where we expose both ends of the leaking line and stop the leak. Using the information from our electronic survey we will open a small section of the wall to expose the plumbing system, usually a manifold. The leaking pipe is then cut and capped to stop the leak. When it is confirmed that the leak has been stopped then the wall is opened at the other end of the pipe and the repair is specified and scheduled.

At Pipeline Restoration we offer a full range of repair options including our signature single line epoxy restoration and whole house epoxy restoration. We work hard to provide you with the best and most cost effective solution to your problem, give us a chance and we will make you a customer for life!

 * This is a full service, no obligation, residential water leak detection service including acoustic survey for new customers only. It is subject to availability of qualified personnel and the offer can be withdrawn at any time. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at anytime at our sole discretion.
